Saxes for classical music: should I purchase a Selmer Paris Series II or III Tenor Sax?
I play tenor saxophone in my school"s band and don't use it for marching so I'm not really worried about rugged-ness. I just want to know which would be best for my purposes: one that has the most control and ease of sound suitable for classical music
If I were buying a tenor sax I would probably purchase the Series ll since it is supposed to most closely match the tone and response of my Mark VI Alto. The information on the Series lll seems to indicate that the playing response is a little better on this model. I have not played on either of these saxes, but I would think that either would suit your needs.
