second hand and sorry but i do not know when it was made. 
It is in quite good condition but the only damage is that the connecting lever between the tenor joint and the boot joint is slightly bent. and the whisper key pad has ripped.
Usually w.schreiber+sohne bassoons were made in the 1940s to the 1950s. If it was hand made, that already tells you that it's going to be worth a lot of money. You can also increase the value of the instrument because it came from another country, is an antique and a valuable, and instruments generally increase in value as they age. German instruments are usually very high quality since many instruments were invented in Germany, so if the instrument is in pretty fine condition, you could probably sell the used second hand instrument for $3999.99.
