what to do for raw swollen hands?
today we had to dissect pigs, and for the rest of the day i felt so dirty i had to wash my hands and use hand sanitizer. i used an entire bottle of sanitizer and washed my hands so many times i lost count. I even went to the extreme of spraying the industrial strength germicide on my hands and scrubbing. i exfoliated my hands several times. i suffer from ocd, so washing my hands a lot isn't unusual, but its never gone to this extreme. my hands are raw, red, and swollen, and i can't stop washing them. i've taken my anxiety medicine, so the hand washing will get better, but the rawness won't go away. i cant pick things up, and typing this out almost had me in tears. i've put lotion on and used ice packs, but nothing is helping. what can i do for my poor hands?
not to judge, but it sounds like you have OCD. You may want to bandage your hands and go to a behavior modification psychologist.
